Pago fraccionado (advance tax payment)

A pago fraccionado is an advance payment of tax made during the year itself: quarterly Modelo 130 or 131 for personal income tax, and Modelo 202 for corporate tax. It is not an extra tax but a payment on account, later deducted from the final bill in the annual return.

On Modelo 130 the advance is 20% of your accumulated net income for the year, minus withholdings already suffered and previous installments; Modelo 202 is filed in April, October and December. The quarter by quarter mechanics are covered in the Modelo 130 entry.
