The paperwork matters: a till receipt or a simplified invoice without your tax details gives no right to deduct, and mixed-use expenses (car, home office) follow special rules. kontora classifies your expenses, separates the deductible input VAT and prepares the modelo 303 draft, which you file from the app itself with your digital certificate, or your advisor files it.
Example: you buy a laptop for work and the shop issues a full invoice with your NIF; you subtract the VAT on that invoice in the quarter's return. If you pay for a personal dinner and keep the receipt, that VAT is not deductible even if you paid with the business card. If you forget an invoice, you do not lose the right at once: you can include it in a later quarter within the period set by law.
It is linked to output VAT, the taxable base and the register of received invoices, where each purchase is recorded. Under schemes with no right to deduct, such as the recargo de equivalencia, input VAT simply becomes part of the expense. In the accounts it goes to a receivable account with the tax agency, separate from the expense itself.
